2010 Global Education Adjunct Faculty Award
Application Directions

The Oklahoma Global Education Consortium (OGEC) will award one grant in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) for the winning innovative global education adjunct faculty proposal.  Grant winners must create a presentation for the annual OGEC conference, September 30 - October 1, 2010, hosted by Oklahoma City Community College.  Additionally, the grant winner will agree to serve on the selection committee for one term.  The applicant must be an adjunct faculty member at an OGEC institution who is presently using a global technique/innovation in his/her teaching assignment.    Previous years’ winners are not eligible for awards.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, August 27, 2010.  Selection of the winner(s) will be announced no later than September 10, 2010, in order for the winner(s) to have ample time to prepare for their presentation.  Criteria for the application are listed below:

(10)         Instruction sufficient for replication at other colleges
(15)         Global significance/connection with Globalism
(10)         Potential for impact on classroom instruction for others
(10)         Plan to improve innovation
(10)         Example of student feedback
(15)         Overall impression regarding preparation time/effort
100          Total points possible

 

Applications should be prepared as a word document and include the following aspects.

(A.) Cover page (include the following):

  1. Title of the project, adjunct faculty member’s name and title, e-mail, phone number.
  2. Please indicate ADJUNCT on the cover page.
  3. Name of the college and mailing address. (Note:  College name appears only on the cover page)
  4. Applicant’s supervising college administrator signature.

(B.) Abstract - A brief overview of the project, not to exceed one page double-spaced with 12-point font.
(C.) Narrative - The evaluation criteria listed above should be clearly indicated within the narrative of the proposal (please include page numbers with the narrative).  The total project narrative should be no longer than eight (8) pages double-spaced. You may also provide up to 3 pages of appendices if necessary.
(D.) Example(s) of student feedback.
