
2010 Global Education Staff Award
Application Directions
The Oklahoma Global Education Consortium (OGEC) will award one grant in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) for innovative global education staff activities at participating member colleges. Grant winners must create a presentation for the annual OGEC conference, September 30 - October 1, 2010, hosted by Oklahoma City Community College. Additionally, grant winners will agree to serve on the selection committee for one term. The applicant must be a full-time staff member of an OGEC institution who is presently using a global technique/innovation in his/her job duties. Previous years’ winners are not eligible for awards.
The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, August 27, 2010. Selection of the winner(s) will be announced no later than September 10, 2010, in order for the winner to have ample time to prepare for the conference presentation. Criteria for the application are listed below:
(10) Number of enrollment management areas (enrollment, counseling, advisement, recruitment, placement
and/or tracking)
(10) Creativity/Innovation
(10) Plan for continuation
(10) Technique sufficient for replication at other colleges
(15) Global significance/connection with globalism
(10) Potential for impact on classroom enrollment for others
(10) Plan to improve innovation
(10) Example of student feedback
(15) Overall impression regarding preparation time/effort
100 Total points possible
Applications should be prepared as a word document and include the following aspects.
(A.) Cover page (include the following):
(B.) Abstract - A brief overview of the project, not to exceed one page double-spaced with 12-point font.
(C.) Narrative - The evaluation criteria listed above should be clearly indicated within the narrative of the proposal (please include page numbers with the narrative). The total project narrative should be no longer than eight (8) pages double-spaced. You may also provide up to 3 pages of appendices if necessary.
(D.) Example(s) of student feedback.
