2010 Global Education Faculty Award
Application Directions

The Oklahoma Global Education Consortium (OGEC) will award two grants in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) each for innovative global education instruction at participating member colleges.  Grant winners must create a presentation for the annual OGEC conference, September 30 - October 1, 2010, hosted by Oklahoma City Community College.  Additionally, grant winners will agree to serve on the selection committee for one term.  The applicant must be a full-time faculty (member of an OGEC institution) who is presently using a global teaching technique/innovation in his/her course(s).  Previous years’ winners are not eligible for awards.
NOTE:  One additional award will be given in an Adjunct Faculty category, same criteria.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, August 27, 2010.  Selection of the winner(s) will be announced no later than September 10, 2010, in order for the winner(s) to have ample time to prepare for their presentation.  Criteria for the application are listed below:

(15)         Global significance/connection with globalism
(10)         Potential for impact on classroom instruction for others

(15)         Overall impression regarding preparation time/effort

Applications should be prepared as a word document and include the following aspects.
(A.)  Cover page (include the following):

  1. Title of the project, instructor’s name and title, e-mail, phone number.
  2. Name of college and mailing address. (Note:  College name only on the cover page)
  3. Applicant’s supervising college administrator signature.

(B.)  Abstract
A brief overview of the project
(C.) Narrative
The evaluation criteria listed above should be clearly indicated within the narrative of the proposal (please include page numbers with the narrative).  The total project narrative should be no longer than eight (8) pages.
(D.) Example(s) of student feedback
