Information about
OGEC
PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization is to foster collaboration between
institutions to achieve the goal of preparing individuals and
communities to participate in the global society and economy.
MEMBERSHIP
OGEC membership is open to Oklahoma community colleges and technical
branch institutions and by invitation to Oklahoma four year colleges/
universities. Annual membership dues are $200 per institution. (More
information
on the categories of membership are listed in the constitution.)
Some of the benefits of the
organization include:
- Access to the OGEC
listserv which provides information on global education
activities/events around the world and information on outside funding
opportunities. [See below.]
- Networking opportunities with Oklahoma, national, and
international educators.
- Opportunities for collaboration on global education
activities and funding projects with other colleges.
- Opportunities to receive information and participate in
consortium sponsored conferences and workshops.
- The opportunity to nominate a candidate for the OGEC
Steering Committee.

OGEC LISTSERV-
The OGEC listserv provides information on global education events,
conferences and other news of interest to community college educators.
A representative of a member institution may request his/her name be
added to the list by e-mailing listserv manager, Catherine
Kinyon.Requests should
include the e-mail address, name of person, and name of the institution.
Listserv
members are encouraged to send announcement to the listserv manager to
be distributed. Guidelines for these announcements are:
- OGEC members
are encouraged to send information on their global education
activities. The announcement should include the name and description of
the event, time, place, along with the name of the contact person and
the person submitting the information.
- The
announcement should not be used to advertise products or commercial
activities.
OGEC'S HOME
